Christmas Party Games Elementary Kids Will Love

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

A Christmas party for elementary school age kids is not complete without those fun and silly parlor games they so love. Read on to get some really enjoyable Christmas party activity ideas, and get your prizes ready and your digital camera too.

The best way to kick off any party is to have an activity that will surely get the elementary school age kids on their feet. In a fill the stocking game, you need to provide stockings, bowls of candies and plastic spoons. Secure each stocking next to each other on the wall at the far end of the room. Divide the children into teams, depending on how many stockings you have, and give each member of the team a plastic spoon. On your cue, the first person of each team should place the tip of the plastic spoon’s handle in his or her mouth, and try to scoop a candy in the bowl. With the plastic spoon still in mouth, he or she should rush to the stocking on the wall and place the candy inside. The next person of each team then repeats the same thing. The game ends when the bowls are empty. And the winners will get to take home the candies.

Your kids will definitely find a game of unwrapping gifts really worth a lot of cheering for their teammates. You need empty boxes wrapped in colorful gift wrappers, trash cans, and a bunch kids who can’t get to wait to get their hands on the gifts to unwrap them. Pile all the gifts in one corner of the room. Divide the kids into two groups. When you say “go” each team will send a member running to get a gift, unwrap it, and try to shoot the wrapper inside the trash can. If he or she fails to do so, the kid should run back and place it inside, before the next teammate takes a turn at unwrapping a gift.

After a few rounds of tiring parlor games, the elementary school kids might want to play something while just sitting. For this next game, you will need a large tray with a cover, and at least 20 different items that has something to do with Christmas. Arrange the items on the tray, which may include anything from a candy cane, a Christmas tree ornament to a miniature reindeer. Give each team less than a minute to look at and try to remember the items on the tray. Cover the tray and have the kids immediately write down all the items that they can recall. The team with the most number of correct items listed is the winner.

Another less tiring game but just as exciting is a game of word hunt. Hand each team a pencil and a sheet of paper. Write a long word or two on the chalkboard — anything that’s related to Christmas. For instance, if you write the word “North Pole”, the elementary age kids should list words from the letters of the word “North Pole”. They should find pool, tone, throne, proton, hornet and so forth.

Elementary school kids like to play guessing games. For this game, you will need a small plastic toy sleigh and a blindfold. Have the kids around in a circle, pick someone and have him or her blindfolded. Hand the toy sleigh randomly to anyone of the kids in the circle. The one who has the sleigh calls out to the blindfolded child something like the following:

Santa, your sleigh’s gone!

Maybe someone just took it!

Who has it? Who has it?

The blindfolded kid will try to figure out who among his peers has the sleigh. He or she is to be given three chances.

Another game that will surely crack them up is a game of drawing. Hand each one a sheet of paper and pencil. Instruct the elementary age kids to close their eyes as they try to draw each shape that you say aloud. But don’t tell them exactly what they are asked to draw. For example, tell them to draw a huge triangle, followed by tiny squares below it. Then ask them to draw little circles scattered inside the triangle, followed by a star shape on top of the triangle. They will surely laugh at what they have drawn the moment you tell them to open their eyes.

The object is to not be the last absent-minded person wearing a red Santa hat. You know there will be one person who gets wrapped up talking by the buffet, has an extra glass of holiday punch and forgets to take off their Santa hat. This person is the loser of the game, which can be played several times throughout the day as you continue the holiday festivities and fun.

Family Christmas Gift Exchange Games

Monday, November 9th, 2009

It used to be that families had no rules about gift buying. Everyone bought for everyone else, and gifts were exchanged when the family are all together somewhere in the Christmas period.

Today it is' more common that people move in order to get assigned a name from a hat or a person to buy. Or the family creates a kind of "white elephant" exchange instead of with family members buy for individuals in particular. So, what do many families, is a fun way to share the giftswhether a particular person or whether it is um''weißen elephant "type gifts.

If the family members took names, there are some fun things you can do. The gifts can be hidden and clues to the location of the gift. So if you're at home grandma 'with your gift for Aunt Martha, you can put their gift in a kitchen cupboard. You''d Then you create a series of idea, here it is. One might say, "Cinnamon lurks here" or "it" hub of the house, but not alwayshome to the Hub.

The instructions can be silly or deadly serious. You can be designed so someone will know where they find their present in a few minutes or so designed that it takes a series of clues to get someone right to their gift, too. If the group is small or the house particularly large, and participants have time, you can always create the hunt, in which more than a tip and left a tip leads to another, which leads to another until the gift is finally found.

Why should theThe kids have all the fun? Create some fun gift exchange ideas for adults. Whether the family is doing to make a name and a regular exchange of gifts or not, you can have some good family fun with a white elephant gift exchange. How about the motto of white elephant gift exchange? If the family in the sector could create, that the issue is. Everyone must bring a gift for the fishery in relation to (this can be anything from sporting goods items, to a singing bass that goes to the wall). It could be a handelectronic fishing game or a board game with fishing as a theme.

To the same effect could, create a "cooking" white elephant exchange or a camping theme exchange of gifts. Also it''s more about what will please the members of the family than anything. Then create some fun games for the exchange itself. Perhaps everyone draws a number and to choose their gifts from the pile in the middle of the number of basis. Perhaps you start the game like that, but thenPeople stehlen''''else 'someone a gift if they want.

You may request that the recipient shakes a gift, a gift from studies and make a good guess as to the contents before opening. If they are correct, they can "steal" else 'someone a gift, but if they are wrong, they keep theirs. Adding to the silliness factor by a card game and dictating that people can''t receive their gift and open it until they win a round in the card game (ideally something fairlyquick like poker or rummy).

The idea behind any family should enjoy the exchange of gifts, each enjoying other 'businesses and the Christmas mood. As long as it could be''fun and engaging, is there 'no reason why the adults in the family can''t have some fun games for the exchange of gifts, only the children.
